HONK!Oz Street Music Festival is the Femmes’ natural habitat. As Honk approaches every year our energy and enthusiasm is renewed, planning new projects to perform together to get toes tapping and the crowd clapping, to speak out about the concerns of the day in a fun-loving and irreverent.
Honk! Oz is a global movement of street music with an activist edge, an outdoor spectacle featuring alternative community bands and related arts. Completely free, and volunteer run, Honk!Oz is a Parade! A Party! A Raucous celebration! Lots of Fun! Energetic, Irreverent, revelrous, and with a somewhat DIY approach to instrumentation and attire. Honk bands perform to celebrate; to protest; to proclaim; some play for peace, some for activist causes; for community spirit and all of them play to have fun!!!!
